Billie L. Thomas, heavy equipment operator
Billie Lee Thomas, 74, of Marshall, died Oct. 27, 2008, at Fauquier Hospital. He was born in Auto, W.Va., on May 28, 1934, to Forest Edward Thomas and Mabel Thomas.
Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army for 14 years during the Korean and Vietnam eras.
He worked in the construction industry and was a heavy equipment operator and welder.
His wife, Janet Thomas, predeceased him.
Survivors include a daughter, Dora Battagalo of Angola, N.Y.; a niece, Donna Richards, and her husband, John, of Marshall, with whom he made his home for many years; two granddaughters, and a great-grandson.
Also surviving are two sisters, Hazel Stigbey of Frankfort, W.Va., and Margaret Britt of Ronceverte, W.Va.
Services are private.
