Charles B. Gray Jr.

Charles B. Gray Jr., farmer

Charles Bell Gray Jr., 86, died July 1 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was born April 26, 1922, to Lucille and Charles B. Gray Sr. at Gray Gables Farm, Calverton, where he lived his entire life.

A graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, Mr. Gray was a dairy farmer until the 1960s, then raised cattle, hay and grain. He was a longtime director of Fauquier Springs Country Club and the Warrenton Horse Show, and served as treasurer for the Casanova Hunt for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Weeks Gray; two children, Charles B. "Butch" Gray of Ruckersville and Katylou Gray of Middleburg; four granddaughters, and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where he served as vestryman and treasurer. Inurnment will follow in the church memorial garden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Memorial Garden, 8538 Greenwich Road, Catlett VA 20119.

Arrangements are by Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton.
