Police and Court Briefs
Inson Pleads GuiltyKimberly Dawn Inson, a Warrenton woman charged with two counts of carnal knowledge of a child without the use of force, pleaded guilty to both counts in Fauquier County Circuit Court March 23.
The charges stemmed from incidents on Dec. 20 and Jan. 18.
During the hearing, Commonwealth's Attorney Jonathan Lynn said that the evidence would have shown that the incidents that resulted in the charges occurred when the teenage victim returned to Inson's home, where he had once been in foster care.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 26 in Circuit Court.
Arrests Made in Drug Cases
Members of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and Blue Ridge Narcotics Task Force made two arrests in unrelated drug cases in the past couple of weeks, police said.
Christopher Lee Watkins, 25, of Remington, was arrested March 16 and charged with possession with intent to distribute PCP and possession of cocaine.
Maj. Paul Mercer of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office said the arrest occurred after members of his agency's Narcotics Unit and the task force executed a search warrant at a Remington home. They seized cocaine, liquid PCP and money from the residence, Mercer added.
Watkins is being held in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in General District Court May 14.
Matthew Lewis, 26, of Markham, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to sell heroin March 3.
Mercer said the arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation in which members of the FCSO Narcotics Unit and the task force conducted a traffic stop on Lewis's vehicle in the 4600 block of John Marshall Highway. Lewis allegedly struck a narcotics agent while trying to flee.
He is reportedly being held without bond in the Warren County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Warren County General District Court May 5.
Additional charges may be pending, Mercer said.
While conducting another investigation, members of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff's Office, the Warrenton Police Department's Special Operations Unit and the task force reportedly executed a search warrant March 2. In the process, they seized an unspecified amount of marijuana, Mercer said.
The investigation is ongoing.
