Residential Burglaries ReportedTwo residential burglaries were reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Feb. 23-25. The details included in police reports are as follows:
— Feb. 23, A complainant from the 7000 block of Blackwell Road, Warrenton, reported a residential burglary with the theft of two 46-inch televisions, money and assorted jewelry. The estimated loss is $10,821 and an investigation is ongoing.
— Feb. 25, Someone from the 3800 block of Dumfries Road, Catlett, reported a residential burglary with the theft of tools. The estimated loss is $592.
Wood Stolen
A caller from the 7700 block of Rogues Road, Nokesville, reported a larceny to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Feb. 23.
According to police records, the complainant reported the theft of several cords of wood worth approximately $600.
Truck Damaged
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received a report of destruction of property with damage exceeding $1,000 on Feb. 25.
Police records indicate someone from the 10000 block of Clarkes Road in Bealeton reported that a truck was damaged. The report does not specify what type of truck it was.
Minor Injuries Reported in Wreck
A Culpeper man reportedly sustained minor injuries in a two-car collision near on U.S. 29 [Lee Highway] near Vint Hill Road Feb. 23.
A Fauquier County deputy's report indicates the crash happened at approximately 5:33 a.m.
Robert William Taylor Sr., 66, of Jeffersonton, was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry when he approached a stop light and hit a 1985 Jeep Wrangler that was already stopped for the light, according to the report.
The driver of the Jeep, Kenneth Andrew Blase of Culpeper, did not appear to be injured but reportedly complained of pain and was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
Taylor, who did not appear to be injured and was not transported, was charged with following another vehicle too closely, police said.
Warrenton Man Charged with DUI
A Warrenton man was reportedly charged with DUI after he was involved in a single-car crash Feb. 27.
Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak said Edward Conrath, 61, was charged with the offense after his 2006 Buick Lacrosse went off the road and struck a utility pole in the area of East Lee Street and South Calhoun.
Conrath, who was not hurt, was also charged with refusal to take sobriety tests, Novak added.
One Injured in Crash
Charges are pending in a two-car crash that happened in Warrenton Feb. 28.
According to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak, the wreck happened at the intersection of Frost Avenue and Van Roijen Street at approximately 6 p.m.
Blake Gordon, 21, of Fort Eustis was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger east on Van Roijen when he got hit by a 2000 Geo Metro, Novak said. Nicholas Pettigrew, 30, of Front Royal was driving the Geo north on Frost Avenue when the collision occurred, the chief added.
Both vehicles reportedly sustained significant damage. Kate Rastall, 19, of Warrenton, who was a passenger in the Ford was hurt but her injuries were not life threatening, Novak said.
Charges Pending in Wreck
No one was hurt in a two-car collision in the area of Alexandria Pike and Moore Head Drive on Feb. 28.
Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak said the accident happened at approximately 5 p.m. Wilda Budd, 53, of Manassas, was driving a 1994 Nissan sedan on Alexandria Pike when she allegedly made a U-turn in front of a 2005 Ford pickup.
The pickup truck, which was driven by Lee Hollander 59, of Warrenton, reportedly sustained $3,000 in damages. The Nissan sustained approximately $7,000 in damages, Novak said.
Charges are pending.
Traffic Stop Results in Arrest
Daniel Ramey, 28, of Sperryville was arrested on a DUI charge following a traffic stop in the early morning hours of Feb. 28, police said.
According to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak, the officer saw a 1985 Porsche spin around completely in the middle of Broadview Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. The vehicle, driven by a man subsequently identified as Ramey, then hit a curb, causing the hatchback to fly open, Novak said.
The officer then made the traffic stop which led to the arrest.
