Dance Studio Closing Angers Area Parents
Steps are apparently being taken to ensure that parents whose children attended a Warrenton dance studio that closed earlier this month will get their money back.Even so, several parents are upset by the recent turn of events. They say they enrolled their children in In Motion Dance Center classes here and that they don't want to take them all the way to Culpeper for classes.
They also say they've tried to get refunds, but as of last week, their requests had not been granted.
The studio reportedly closed Feb. 11 due to unspecified problems with the Falmouth Street building where it was located.
“We invested a lot in trying to make the building a safe place for everyone in the community to have fun, but we couldn’t resolve [the problems],” said Terri Fitz, the managing director of In Motion Dance Center LLC.
The dance classes that were held here are now being offered by Piedmont in Motion of Culpeper, Fitz said. Some parents who have opted not to have their children continue classes there have already received refunds, but many accounts are still being reviewed, she said.
“A lot of refunds have already been made in lieu of alternative services. [But] it will take time to review all of the accounts,” Fitz said.
