Drug dog joins Warrenton police force

Although the newest member of the Warrenton Police Department is undeniably different from the rest of his co-workers, he's fitting in quite well, according to Maj. Lou Battle.

The rookie's name is Ringo. He is just two years old, he has a black and brown coat, four paws, large ears and an excellent sense of smell.

Ringo joined the Warrenton police force in January and immediately began an intensive eight-week training course with the Eastern K-9 Police Association. He received his certification in Pennsylvania March 27 and is now teamed up with Warrenton's narcotics detective.
