Burglaries reported

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received three reports of burglaries last week. The details included in police records are as follows:

— Oct. 6, A caller from the 7300 block of Groupe Road, Warrenton, reported a residential burglary with the theft of a dishwasher, oven and gas stove top. The estimated loss of $1,050 and an investigation is ongoing.

— Oct. 7, A caller from the 8000 block of Botha Road, Warrenton, reported a residential burglary with the theft of a Marlin 30-30 and a chainsaw. The estimated loss is $600 and an investigation is ongoing.

— Oct. 9, Someone from the 4400 block of Ebenezer Church Road in Midland reported a burglary of a church with the theft of computer software, a printer and audio-visual equipment. The estimated loss is $5,100 and an investigation is ongoing.


Property damage reported

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received a report of damaged property Oct. 6.

According to police records, a complainant from the 11000 block of Southcoate Village Drive in Bealeton reported damage to a 2002 Ford Explorer. The estimated loss is $5,100.


Credit card fraud investigated

Two incidents of credit card fraud reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office last week remain under investigation. The details included in police records are as follows:

— Oct. 6, someone from the 6400 block of Main Street in The Plains reported credit card fraud with an estimated loss of $585.

— Oct. 7, A caller from the 4500 block of Sumerduck Road, Sumerduck, reported credit card fraud with an estimated loss of $600.


Larcenies reported

Two larcenies reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office remain under investigation. According to police records, the details are as follows:

— Oct. 8, Someone from the 9300 block of Ada Road, Marshall, reported the theft of of a 14-foot utility trailer. The estimated loss is $2,000.

š— Oct. 11, A complainant from the 11200 block of Torrie Way, Bealeton, reported the theft of tools from a motor vehicle. The estimated loss is $727.


Campaign signs stolen

Warrenton Police said three campaign signs were taken over the weekend.

According to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak, all three were Obama signs. The chief did not say where they were taken from in town.


Drug arrests made

Four people were arrested on drug charges in Warrenton Oct. 11.

Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak said Matthew Dennis, 19, of Warrenton; Brandon Dunivan, 18, of The Plains; Ethan Swain of Warrenton; and a 16-year-old from Warrenton, were all arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and loitering.

Two other juvenile girls were charged with loitering, the chief said.

The arrests reportedly occurred after the manager at McDonald's reported trespassers on the property. Officers responded and smelled marijuana coming from a car in the parking lot, Novak said.


Three injured in wreck

Police said three people were hurt in a car crash in the area of John Marshall Highway and Winchester Road Oct. 7.

An accident report taken by a Fauquier County deputy indicates the wreck happened at approximately 8:04 p.m.

Karen Diane Eppard, 46, of Charlottesville, was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on John Marshall Highway [Route 55] when she went through the stop sign at the intersection with Winchester Road [U.S. 17], police said. The vehicle crossed over Winchester Road and left the roadway, where it it a tree.

Eppard and two passengers were transported to the hospital by EMS, according to the report.


Bealeton man charged with DUI

A Beaelton man was reportedly charged with DUI after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident Oct. 11.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened in the area of Schoolhouse Road and Catlett Road at approximately 3:03 p.m.

Nikki Lynn Washington, 29, of Culpeper, was driving a 1997 Mercury Topaz when she was hit from behind after turning onto Schoolhouse Road, police said. John Eugene McCoy, 51, who was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra when he allegedly hit Washington's vehicle, was charged with DUI.

Two passengers in Washington's vehicle complained of pain but were not transported to the hospital by EMS, according to the report. Neither driver was hurt.


One hurt in single-vehicle accident

William Keelan Collins III, 40, of Amissville, was injured in a single-vehicle accident Oct. 11, police said.

A Fauquier County deputy's report indicates the wreck happened in the area of Sowego Road and Hunter Road at approximately 7:40 p.m.

Collins was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass westbound on Sowego Road when it went of the left side of the road, police said. The front of the car hit an embankment and the rear end swung around and hit a tree.

Collins, who was visibly hurt, was charged with DUI, police said. He was transported to the hospital by EMS.
