Proposals would limit development

By Don Del Rosso

He wants to tighten the screws on residential development in rural Fauquier.

County Supervisor Holder Trumbo (Scott District) believes Fauquier no longer should give building density credits for floodplain and steep slopes of greater than 25 percent.

Trumbo also believes Fauquier should prohibit construction of homes on ridgelines.

The proposed ordinance changes would apply to agricultural and conservation areas.

Trumbo will ask the board of supervisors on Thursday to forward both ideas to the county planning commission for further study and recommendations.
