Warrenton woman charged with grand larcenyPolice said Yvonne A. Alicea, 42, of Warrenton, was charged with grand larceny after an investigation conducted by Fauquier County Deputy P. Cable determine she stole a purse June 3.
The investigation occurred after someone from a restaurant in the 7300 block of Comfort Inn Drive, Warrenton, reported the theft of an employee's purse. The contents included money and miscellaneous jewelry worth approximately $800.
Possession of marijuana charged
Remington Police Officer A. Abdo reportedly charged a Culpeper woman with possession of marijuana (2nd offense) as the result of a traffic stop at 1:40 a.m. June 7.
Samantha Glick, 25, was also charged with a felony count of driving on a revoked license and DUI (2nd offense within 5 years with a child), police said.
She was transported to the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center and held there.
Warrenton man wanted on several charges
Warrenton Police are seeking the public's help in finding a Warrenton man wanted on several charges, including reckless driving, obstructing a law enforcement officer and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Sgt. George W. Southard Jr., said Herbert B. Brown, 21, eluded police officers when they attempted to stop him for a traffic violation on Feb. 29. Brown allegedly fled on foot after police stopped the vehicle on Main Street.
Brown is also wanted in connection with the incident for reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while suspended or revoked.
Brown's last known address is Fairfield Drive, which is located in Leeds Square in Warrenton.
He is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.
Police ask anyone with information about Brown to call (540) 347-1100.
Arson reported
Fauquier County detectives are investigating an arson reported June 5.
According to police records, a caller from the 10000 block of Wheatley School Road in Marshall reported a mailbox had been set on fire. The estimated loss is $50.
Fraud investigated
Two cases of fraud reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office last week remain under investigation.
Police records indicate someone from the 6500 block of Wincewood Drive in Warrenton reported credit card fraud June 2. The estimated loss is $284.
A caller from the 10400 block of St. Pauls Road in Bealeton also reported credit card fraud June 5. The estimated loss in the second case is $690.
Fences damaged
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received two reports of damaged fences last week.
A caller from the 5700 block of Leeds Manor Road, Hume, reported that a vehicle had run through a fence on June 2. The estimated loss is $500.
In the second case, someone from the 4200 block of Belvoir Road in Marshall reported that vandals used spray paint to damage a fence. The estimated loss in that case is also $500.
Theft from motor vehicle
The theft of a Cobra CB and a Sony stereo from a vehicle remains under investigation.
Police records indicate someone from the 10000 block of Marsh Road, Bealeton, reported the incident June 3. The items are worth approximately $750. The investigation continues.
Larcenies investigated
Fauquier County detectives are investigating two reports of stolen property.
Police said someone from the 13000 block of Deep Run Mill road in Goldvein reported the theft of a generator June 5. The item is reportedly worth $800.
On June 6, a caller from the 13100 block of Blackwells Mill Road in Goldvein reported the theft of jewelry and tools. The estimated loss is $2,450.
Accident leads to charges
A Culpeper man was reportedly charged with driving without a license after he had a car accident June 4.
The wreck happened in the area of U.S. 29 and O'Keefe Road shortly after midnight.
According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, Benjamin Torres, 39, was driving a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus southbound on U.S. 29 when he lost control of it. The vehicle went off the right side of the road due to its speed and the slick pavement caused by the rain, police said. The vehicle hit a tree and damaged a yard, according to the report.
Torres was also charged with reckless driving (improper speed).
A passenger was reportedly transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
Motorist injured when tree falls on vehicle
Andrea Esther Halvarso Miller 18, of Catlett was injured when a tree fell on her car during a severe thunderstorm June 4, police said.
An accident report taken by a Fauquier County deputy indicates Miller was driving southbound in the 7100 block of Riley Road at approximately 2:40 p.m. A large tree on the right side of the road fell on top of the car as it was falling into the roadway.
Miller was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
Failure to yield results in accident
Nancy Lee Mountjoy, 57, of Bealeton, was reportedly charged with failure to yield the right of way at an uncontrolled t-intersection after she was involved in a motor vehicle accident June 6.
The wreck happened in the area of U.S. 17 and Covington's Corner Road just before 3 p.m.
According to an accident report compiled by a Fauquier County deputy, a 16-year-old Warrenton girl was driving a 1997 Honda Accord and Mountjoy was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Mountjoy allegedly pulled into the other car's path as she tried to make a left turn on to U.S. 17, and the Accord hit her car.
Mountjoy was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
Minor injuries in motorcycle crash
Two people reportedly sustained minor injuries in a motorcycle crash June 7.
The accident happened in the 2053 block of Halfway Road at approximately 12:28 p.m.
An accident report taken by a Fauquier County deputy indicates Forrest Stanley Sisson IV, 45, of Leesburg, was driving a 1990 Honda GL1500 southbound on Halfway Road when he lost control of it and it went of the right side of the road. The motorcycle then hit a utility pole.
Fire and rescue personnel administered treatment at the scene.
