Markham This Week: Hume Baptist VBS is Saturday
July! Peaches, fresh tomatoes, green beans, hot weather, swimming pools. Enjoy all of it and be grateful for short vacations and celebrations.
Spc. Seth Williams, son of Margaret and Jerry Williams of Orlean, has recently received a bachelor's degree in religious education from Wayland Baptist University.
Williams is currently attached to the 71st Chemical Company stationed at Scofield Barracks, Hawaii. He was selected May's Soldier of the Month by his company commander for excellent service and is planning to enter a postgraduate program to become an Army chaplain. Your service is appreciated, Seth. Thank you.
Birthday greetings this week to Jim Green, John Wayland, the Rev. Linnea Turner and Bill Clark. Some special celebrations are being planned for these special folks. Enjoy each one.

Carl Liles of Hume has just become a First Class Boy Scout and has been on the honor roll at Wakefield Country Day School for all semesters in the past two years. This young man participates in a variety of activities at school and in Scouting. Congratulations, Carl.
