Belated birthday wishes go out this week to Robin Adair. Robin turned 48 on July 18. Hope you enjoyed your day, Robin. This week, Steve Hamilton, David Ratliff and Angi Beach will be celebrating. Many happy returns to you all.
Mount Holly Baptist Church in Remington would like to invite everyone to celebrate its 175th anniversary Homecoming service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. The Greater Love Quartet will provide special music during the 10:30 a.m. service and the 2 p.m. afternoon service.
Dinner on the grounds will follow the morning worship service.
Revival services will run Monday, Aug. 18, through Friday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Clarkson. Special music each evening.
If you need more information, please contact the church office at (540) 439-1504.
The Goldvein Jubilee is quickly approaching. It will be 2-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. The fun begins with a car show sponsored by the Goldvein Volunteer Fire Department. The parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. (More participants are needed; please call Bob at (540) 752-5330.)
This will be followed by "Goldvein Idol," live entertainment, a silent auction, door prizes, a gold-panning booth, games, a petting zoo, and great food. More volunteers are needed to make this event a success.
No vacation news to share this week, please call or e-mail me about your travels.
This week's quote is by Elbert Hubbard: "No man needs a vacation so much as the man who just had one."
Have a wonderful week.
