Bubb, Getschel wedding held in Pennsylvania

More than 125 guests attended a reception at The Hamilton Club of Lancaster, Pa., following the wedding of Victoria Louise Bubb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Bubb of Lancaster, formerly of Carr Lane, Upperville, and Karl Mech Getschel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard G. Getschel, Jr. of Lutherville, Md. The bride’s grandparents are Lancaster residents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bubb residing at Willow Valley.

The double-ring ceremony took place at St. James Episcopal Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. Thomas Purdy officiating. Con-celebrants were the Rev. Jerry LiaBraaten and the Rev. Renee LiaBraaten of Lincolnville, Maine, friends of the Bubb family. The director of music was Ron Barnett. The Lancaster String Quartet performed at the ceremony.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride selected an elegant Pronovias gown designed by Manuel Mota of Barcelona, Spain, in soft ivory with hand-beaded detail on the bodice, drop waist and organza skirt, which extended into a cathedral-length train. Her veil of silk illusion was edged with pearls and gems. The bride carried a bouquet of white and pink peonies.

Alexandra Bubb of Baltimore, Md., sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor in a Bill Levkoff European blue satin strapless gown with a wide sash that tied in the back to form long tails over a skirt with a slight back train.

Identically attired were the bridesmaids, Marian Yanega of Lutherville, sister of the groom; Jackie Getschel of Philadelphia, Pa., sister-in-law of the groom; Heather Moser and Sarah Ramian of Baltimore, Md.; Emily Letzkus of Philadelphia; and Laura Hendry of New York. All carried bouquets of yellow dahlias, cymbidium orchids and fresias.

L. George Getschel of Philadelphia, brother of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Robert Yanega of Lutherville, brother-in-law of the groom, Ryan Burrows, John Murrow, Ben Murrow, Bart Rommel and Matt Willis of Baltimore.

Alexandra Lowrie of North Andover, Mass., cousin of the bride, was the flower girl, and Bobby Yanega of Lutherville, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

The newlyweds left for a week's honeymoon in St. Lucia following the wedding.

In the fall, the groom will begin studying for an MBA at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, where the couple will reside.
