Remington: Mark calendar for local events
Summer heat brings out the need for hair comfort. Accordingly, Remington's four hair salons and shops are poised for summertime haircuts.
Remington Barber Shop owner D.J. Jenkins is offering a special buzz-crew cut for only $8 for the next six to eight weeks, Tuesday through Friday.
Mirror Mirror owner Cary Flammia is offering $5 off on any haircut through July. Discount is available only with Cary and by appointment.
Donna's Cut & Style owner Donna Fulcher is offering perms starting at $65. Donna's also offers frostings, ear-piercings, waxing and all types of haircuts.
Kimodi's Barbershop owner Kimodi Cheatham does all kinds of men's haircuts along with shaves. Kimodi is a barber for all textures of hair.
The Town of Remington wishes to advise the following:
• Flags for Fourth of July will line Main Street and James Madison Street. The flags will be put up beginning Wednesday by Jimmy Stewart and Van Loving.
• Trash service will be on Thursday, July 3, due to the Fourth of July holiday on Friday.
• The annual water tank maintenance will occur July 7-10. Water customers will experience low water pressure and are asked to conserve water during this period.
• Movie Night will feature "Herbie, the Love Bug" on July 12 at dusk at 105 East Main Street.

• Remington Baptist Church will have its annual Vacation Bible School 6-8 p.m. July 6-10.
• Faith Baptist Church, pastor Leo DeLarge, 11615 Marsh Road, Bealeton provides nursery care at every service (Sunday School 10 a.m., service 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Thursday prayer and Bible study, 7:30 p.m.).
The DVM, 203 East Main Street in Remington Town Hall, is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (except July 4). Services provided by Lisa Whiting and Peggy Nelson include title transfers, registrations, license plates, permits, handicapped parking placards, voter registration, driver transcripts, certain name and address changes, dealer work and returned checks.
