Stabbing investigated

A stabbing at the Remington Lions Club Dec. 26 remains under investigation, police said.

According to Maj. Paul Mercer of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a possible stabbing at the club at approximately 1:52 a.m. When they got there, the deputies found three people had been stabbed, Mercer added.

No one sustained life threatening injuries, according to the major. One person was reportedly flown by helicopter to a Fairfax hospital. The others were transported to Fauquier Hospital by EMS personnel, Mercer said.


Arrest made in Marshall burglary

Police said a Sterling woman was arrested and charged with grand larceny Dec. 16.

Angel N. Chapman, who is also known as Angel N. Fitzgerald, 33, was reportedly arrested as the result of an incident that occurred in the 8300 block of West Main Street in Marshall. A complainant reported a burglary with an estimated loss of $880, police said.

Mercer said Chapman was charged in connection with the incident after an investigation determined she took a bank bag out of a vehicle.

Court records show two preliminary appearances in General District Court were continued. Her next appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Jan. 8.


Stolen vehicle recovered

A vehicle which had been reported as stolen to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office was recovered the same day, police said.

A police report indicates a caller from the 7600 block of Wankoma Drive in Remington reported a 2007 Honda stolen Dec. 16. The vehicle is reportedly worth approximately $30,000.


Larcenies investigated

Two larcenies reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office remain under investigation.

According to police reports, the details are as follows:

Dec. 17, Someone from the 6300 block of Broad Street in The Plains reported a theft of checks with an estimated loss of $725.

Dec. 19, A caller from the 12100 block of McDonalds Lane in Hume reported the theft of a Jennings .22 semi-automatic and gold bracelets. The estimated loss in the case is $1,600.


Property damage reported

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received a report of damaged property Dec. 17.

A police report indicates someone from the 11500 block of Rogues Road near Warrenton reported damage to an eight-foot by 12-foot section of fence. The estimated loss is $800.


Bealeton woman charged with grand larceny

Pamela Hakenson, 55, of Bealeton, was reportedly arrested and charged with grand larceny Dec. 23.

Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak said Hakenson's arrest stemmed from an incident Dec. 22. An investigation determined Hakenson allegedly took a bank card that she found at her place of employment and used it at a Warrenton jewelry store. After purchasing a necklace valued at approximately $500, Hakenson also used the card at the Giant supermarket, Novak said.

Hakenson was also charged with one count of forgery of a credit card, one count of larceny of a credit card and one count of petit larceny, according to court records.

She is scheduled to appear in General District Court at 9 a.m. Jan. 26.


Man arrested on outstanding warrants

A Jeffersonton man who claimed to be the victim of a robbery Dec. 19 was arrested on outstanding warrants, police said.

According to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak, Raza Hasan Sikandar, 26, claimed he was robbed outside a Warrenton restaurant at approximately 1:16 a.m. However, the ensuing investigation determined that Sikandar was wanted by Manassas City police and the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, the chief added.

Sikandar was arrested at his home Dec. 22 on outstanding warrants charging him with obtaining money by false pretenses, Novak added.

He was held on $200,000 bond and is reportedly facing additional charges to be filed by Warrenton police.


Juvenile hit by car

A teenager was injured after he was hit by a car as he was walking along Nordix Drive Dec. 20, police said.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's accident report, the incident occurred at approximately 9:14 p.m.

James Alton Flickinger, 74, of Nokesville, was reportedly driving a 2001 Nissan Altima westbound on Nordix Drive when he approached a group of pedestrians that was also walking westbound on Nordix Drive.

The report states that one of the pedestrians “refused to move” from the roadway.” Flickinger's vehicle hit the pedestrian as he attempted to pass the group, according to the report.

The pedestrian was not seen by the driver of Vehicle 1 due to wearing dark clothing and headlight glare from approaching vehicles in the oncoming lane,” the report states.

Flickinger was not charged in connection with the incident and did not appear to be hurt, police said.

The pedestrian who was hit was reportedly transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
