I'm not cheap, I'm frugal
Last night I had a dream, nay, a nightmare, in which I went to Best Buy and purchased a Playstation 3. I woke up drenched and screaming only to realize that I hadn't spent $600 on a video game console. Thank god for those rubber sheets.I would like to think that I am in the majority when it comes to gaming. I work for a living and unfortunately don't have a first national bank in my pocket, although I do make about 2 to 3 deposits a day (Budoom Tss). I'll buy a game if it really strikes my fancy but for the most part, I rent.
Right now I'm playing Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, for the XBOX 360. The game as a whole isn't that great and its only saving grace is the visuals. The game looks pretty darn good but the story is very dry. But, if you like the Pirates movies it is definitely worth a look, it is easy to point out the mistakes or gaps in the story but you get to command most of the main characters during the game.
Instead of writing strictly about games and interviewing developers, this will be a break from the norm. I don't have all day and night to play games so writing reviews wouldn't be beneficial to anyone. For previews, reviews and movies, check out websites like Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers.com. If you are a fanboy for a particular console you should check out Official XBOX Magazine, Official Playstation Magazine, Electronic Gaming Monthly, or PC Gamer Magazine just to name a few. Podcasts from Gamespot, IGN, EGM and 1Up are great resources for gaming news in audio or video format.
For me to buy the Playstation 3, the price would have to drop to at least the price of the XBOX 360 or star in its own movie. I wonder what a Playstation 3 movie would be like.....would be like......would be like. (The screen melts revealing a title screen)
For the first time ever, the Playstation 3 will star in its first ever, feature length blockbuster movie for the first time ever. When terrorists plan to infultrate American television to transmit anti-U.S. propaganda, only two men are willing to pay the ultimate price. Jack Bauer, Chuck Norris; SLAYSTATION 3. With the help of the PS3, Jack Bauer and Chuck Norris, fight the forces of evil to bring order back to the universe. With their back against the wall, the terrorists, in a final act of desperation, strap a dirty bomb to the back of a stolen, Rob the Robot and send him on a collision course with destiny. Jack immediately calls CTU and requests a satellite uplink to the last known location of the bomb with interlaced weaving streams of video computeration. With Rob the Robot only feet away from the Whitehouse, the PS3 uses its enormous girth to block the way. Chloe O'Brian uploads software to Bauer's Sackberry 8500, enabling him to hack into the PS3's wireless controller. By manipulating the wireless signal, the controller emits an ultra-high frequency screech, sending Chuck Norris into Rage Mode. The Chuckmeister, wearing his Action Jeans, roundhouse kicks the PS3 console so hard the molecular structure implodes causing a Six Axis black hole. Then Rob, along with the Bomb are sucked into another dimension. For its bravery and valor, the PS3 receives the Congressional Medal of Honor. Then Jack Bauer and Chuck Norris leap from a random building as it explodes for some reason.
Their is a love triangle between Jack, Chuck and Bea Arthur but that is still up in the air. The scene where Steven Seagal rips out a dudes throat had to be cut due to FCC regulations.
Let me know if you have any good movie ideas that will send Playstation 3's flying off the shelves.
I'm just bitter because I would like to get a PS3 but I can't justify spending the money. Stupid Sony and their stupid expensive electronics.
I'm sure that Sony will be fine and the PS3 will become a great platform for games. BUT. In the past, expensive consoles haven't faired well in the market. In 1993 the 3DO cost $700. At the time, the 3DO was the most powerful system to date and that was how they marketed it. With inflation, $700 back in 1993 is like $15,000 today. The 32X from SEGA was $650 and it was just an add-on. Plus it was a huge pile. The Neo Geo was $650. The Atari Jaguar's price tag was just $250, but most of its games were garbage. High prices and no good games equals poo poo. Plus the PS1 came out a few years later and destroyed everyone.
This has nothing to do with video games, or maybe it does. I was watching TV and saw the spot about ultra life-like robots in Japan. These robots are by far the most troubling images I have ever seen on a television screen. It's only a matter of time before the robots take over. Just watch, during the next electronics show in Japan, the robot designer is going to demonstrate how life-like these droids are. Then the robot will demonstrate how to grab his creator by the neck and throw him through a wall. It's like the world being taken over by an army of Lenny's from "Of Mice and Men". The robots are programmed to love so they go around hugging and kissing people, but they end up crushing people's bodies and biting their faces off.
DO WORK!

WOW!!!! I feel like I just got off a roller coaster!! My head is spinning....Pretty funny though/howling. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Hmm..
I always saw PS3 in the romantic comedy genre... coming this fall to an arthouse theater near you, it's...
"PS3 me, ASAP!"
Set in New York's Upper West Side, Woody Allen has to compete for the attention of Diane Keaton, who is have a torrid affair with her game console. Will she come to her senses and enjoy the company of someone real? If so, things don't look good for Woody...
Oh well, Hollywood will never go for it...

Hey, I guess they're right.
Blog writers, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I enjoyed your column, even though it was super long.
Can't wait to read about cake.
Don't you go dying on me!
