Stuck in my head
It's sad when you're 25 and television show theme songs for toddlers are constantly stuck in your head.
If you can relate to this, you probably have a little one at home (or you just have very strange taste in morning television) and you probably watch a lot of this:
The Backyardigans:
This one is probably my favorite. The characters are so cute and cuddly looking and they love to sing! Therefore little kids love them! And sometimes.. I hate to admit it... I like to watch too! And ... I also hate to admit... the songs are kind of catchy.
I don't love, however, having the Backyardigans theme song in my head while I am supposed to be out in the adult world, working away!
"Your backyard friends, the Backyardigans!
Together in the backyard again,
Inthe place where we belong,
Where we'll prob'ly sing a song,
And we'll maybe dance along."
This show is really sweet, and they recently did a pirate-themed episode with some really cute singing and dancing moments. (I love pirates in case you didn't know.)
I couldn't stop watching.
Dora the Explorer:
I am also kind of into Dora and Diego... he is her little brother or something? He has his own show. They are cute and a good way to learn Spanish!
It is a little annoying when they're like... "WHERE ARE THE SCISSORS?" and the kids are suppsed to yell out "the backpack!" and then she's like... "In MY BACKPACK!" I guess everything is in their backpacks?
Dragontales:
It's on PBS Sprout. I sometimes catch myself wathing it too while I'm supposed to be getting ready for work in the morning.
They don't sing as much. It's more about learning lessons like how to help each other and stuff like that. Haydin is of course way too young to understand any of it but it distracts her while I'm busy doin other things!
Wonderpets:
It's these little baby animals who constantly travel around saving... what else? Other cute little baby animals!!!
They sing too, but it's much more elementary. And much WORSE to have in my head. Like this one happens to me all the time...
"What's gonna work? TEAMWORK!
What's gonna work? TEAMWORK!"
and that is all... it just repeats...
Ok, I guess you get the idea. :)
I hope all you mommies and daddies can relate to this a bit. I know I am not the only one! :)
There I am done ranting... and I now have that song STUCK IN MY HEAD!!! :(
