Belly Rubs

Now that I am in my eighth month of pregnancy, I guess it's pretty unavoidable that everyone can tell.

What I don't understand is why everyone feels the need to comment about it and even (surprisingly often) TOUCH ME!

I'm not talking about family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers and even people I AM IN A CONVERSATION with. They are all fine.

What I don't understand is why perfect strangers that should have never entered into my life feel the need to come up to me and talk about my pregnancy.

In parking lots, grocery stores, gas stations, anywhere I go in public it seems like people just can't resist coming over to have the same talk...

"How far along are you!" "Oh you've still got the rest of summer to get through!" "It's gonna be hot!" "Is it a boy or a girl" "Aw that's so exciting!" "Is this your first?"... etc.

And it's not just women either!!! (Although I find they are the only ones who for some reason feel the need to touch and rub my little baby belly!)

I mean, I don't mind THAT much. I am a pretty outgoing person and being near strangers doesn't usually freak me out, but sometimes that little old lady in the grocery aisle can be slightly creepy when she's literally rubbing on me within five seconds of starting a conversation!

    It's so funny.

Just wanted to point that out so next time you see a pregnant woman – at least a fairly pregnant one who is pretty far along that you have never met or talked to before (and especially if you are a crazy old lady) -- try to keep your hands off!!! (Or at least make sure she's OK with it before you fondle the belly.)

    Thanks.
